Success, Sort Of

In my quest to become more minimal in life, over the summer I tossed all the jewel cases from my CDs and put them in red boxes.

Over the last few days, I’ve finally done the same for my DVDs.

While I like how much that reduces clutter, and I like how much easier it will make my upcoming move, I realized I’m now missing something.

My DVD carousel is now empty. And along with that emptiness is a sudden loss of color.

Now that it’s gone, I realize how lively that juxtaposition was. How the random assortment of cases brought a certain life to that corner.

I miss that now, and am suddenly nostalgic.

I’m sure I’ll adjust, but it still strikes me as rather sad.

I suppose I’ll have to find some new fabulous way to bring back that feeling, as I miss it already.
